What is hyaluronic acid? And what is it used for?
Hyaluronic acid is a synthetic, viscous and elastic substance naturally present in synovial joint fluid. These injections can help ease the symptoms of Osteoarthritis (OA) in various joints including the knee, hip and shoulder.
How it is administered?
It is an injection administered under CT guidance into the affected joint, in a series of three injections spaced 1-2 weeks apart.
What you need to bring
All that is required for the procedure is your referral and your presence. Wearing loose-fitting clothing is recommended for ease, and occasionally you may be asked to change into a gown.
Do I need an appointment?
