What is the NLCSP?
Australia’s National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) is a federal initiative designed to detect lung cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage by screening high-risk individuals with a history of heavy smoking
Who is eligable?
Patient who are 50-70 years old, who currently smoke or have quit in the last 10 years and are asymptomatic may be eligable
What we do
If you meet the criteria, you GP will refer you for a bulk billed low-dose CT scan. Through our partnership with Lungscreen, we provide access to world-class expertise in the early detection and assessment of lung nodules and cancer
What you need to bring
All that is required for the procedure is your referral and your presence. Wearing loose-fitting clothing is recommended for ease, and occasionally you may be asked to change into a gown.
