What is interventional radiology?
Interventional radiology includes a wide range of minimally invasive procedures, guided by imaging techniques such as ultrasound and CT, to diagnose and treat various conditions. These procedures are performed by a highly trained Radiologist, and often replace the need for traditional surgery, reducing recovery time and complications.
What procedures do we perform?
At imaging Sippy Downs we perform a range of ultrasound and CT guided cortisone injections, various spinal injections, and well as fine needle aspirations (FNAs), biopsies and drainages.
What you need to bring
If you have had previous imaging performed at another clinic, please bring a copy of your report to assist the radiologist in performing your procedure. A referral from your general practitioner or specialist is also required. Additionally, depending on the type of procedure, you may need to arrange for someone to drive you home.
Do I need an appointment?
An appointment is required for your procedure. Additionally, a pre-procedure scan may be necessary to allow the radiologist to make an informed assessment and ensure the most appropriate course of action. Please call us here to make an appointment, or if you have any questions.
